Review of Angels with Dirty Faces (1938) by James G — 10 Jul 2007
Classic story of the two very different paths taken by two childhood friends, one growing up to be a gangster and the other a priest. Great acting throughout epitomised by Cagney's tough but still very human gangster characther, Rocky Sullivan.
This combined with a great story, script and cinematography make this movie an all time classic. Not Cagney's greatest ever but definitly in the top 5. It's a pity they don't make films like this any more.
