Review of Angels with Dirty Faces (1938) by Zach M — 03 Aug 2011
This was an enjoyable old school gangster film.
A great cast helps fuel this movie with James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, Pat O'Brien and Ann Sheridan.
Rocky and Jerry are friends as kids then Jerry goes on to be a priest and Rocky bounces around in juvenile detention, jail and reform school. Rocky gets out of jail and goes back to the old neighborhood so he can get his 100,000$ that Frazier held onto for him but doesn't want to give back.
Jerry trying to keep neighborhood kids straight and Rocky tries to start his racketeering again.
Craziness and violence ensues.
