Weird supernatural "thing-y" that's saved by a strong performance from Rourke and awesome facial hair from DeNiro.
It's got some memorable scenes due to the general weirdness but aside from that there's not much too it really- Parker's skill shows but so does the sense that this is a pretty weak adaptation of a good book. It's perfectly acceptable but it's far from mind-blowing.
