Review of Angel Heart (1987) by Stephane M — 12 Oct 2007
I first saw this movie when I was about 15 or 16. My mother's husband at the time, Art, turned me on to it. It took me a few times of watching it to "get" what had happened. This is a great move--very film noir! I've always liked Mickey Rourke and, of course, Robert De Niro (I mean, who doesn't like Robert De Niro?).
I also find the wholde concept of voodoo interesting, and the imagery is breathtaking. I watched "The Cosby Show" too, though this movie is decidedly very un-Cosbylike. And the sex scene between Mickey Rourke and Lisa Bonet? Very hot, though somewhat controversial in 1987.
