Review of Angel Heart (1987) by Ryan S — 05 Oct 2010

Great movie. Very intriguing and interesting story all the way through with great characters and great performances by Mickey Rourke and Robert De Niro. It's very mysterious the whole way through and you know that not everything is as it seems and then, in the end, it turns out that actually NOTHING is as it seems.

An awesome twist at the end that makes an already good movie great, one of the best twists ever pulled off in a movie, I would say. One of the really great thing about the twist endings is that, much like other movies such as The Sixth Sense, it throws it right in your face the whole time and if you rewatch it you'll feel stupid for not figuring it out and that is when you know you have a good twist.

This is a film that meshes together several different genres and does it very well and by the end you'll know you watched something original, something different and something memorable.
