Review of Angel Heart (1987) by Bridgette F — 12 Dec 2011
Great supernatural detective story. I wasn't entirely aware of who Alan Parker was before this film (and that he was the director of some greats like 'Midnight Express' and 'Bugsy Malone') but the captivating direction really stuck out, and prompted me to watch the Special Features after seeing the film - also well worth watching if you have the Director's Chair edition DVD.
I think this film proves again what a brilliant actor Mickey Rourke is, and does a great job of showcasing a perfectly chilling performance by Robert De Niro. Well worth a watch.
