Review of Angel Heart (1987) by Rickoray — 29 Jul 2018

A cult movie ! I was a little bit disappointed by the metascore at first, but this movie, with it's indeniable qualities, is, it's true, not flawless. Moreover a lot of the reviews were written back in '87 and they were polarized.

However, this movie deserves to be seen for several reasons : for the beautiful sets, for the atmosphere, for the excellent cast, for the unique cinematic vision Parker brings and for the fact that this movie is the matrix of twisting-plots movies of the 90s and the early 2000s.

I'm always stunned by the incredible performance of Mickey Rourke. His acting in the end of the movie remains one of the best pieces of acting i've seen.
