Review of Angel Heart (1987) by Richard C — 01 Nov 2012
A truly terrifying thriller that succeeds as both a noirish thriller and as a supernatural horror, balanced by two brilliant performances from Mickey Rourke and Robert De Niro. Alan Parker's intense direction also pushes the film into such chilling territory that few films succeed in delivering, with the film working in blending in a variety of suitable mise-en-scene, a chilling soundtrack and an unpredictabe twist that must be seen to be believed.
One of the most underrated horrors of the last 50 years, Angel Heart is a very good horror to see at least three times.
