Adrian Lyne who directed 9 1/2 weeks later which also starred Mickey Rouke said that is Mickey had Died after Angel Heart he would have been bigger than James Dean thats how good Mickey Rourke is in this film he is the whole reason the film works to its just a great film because of the perofromance he brings as a down and out detective assigned a very dangerous case involved with the supernatrual its a film I highly recommed everyone to see.
