Review of Angel Face (1953) by Orlok W — 18 Dec 2013
Solid little noir from director Otto Preminger, involving Jean Simmons as the title angel face who is really an angel of death, luring married man Robert Mitchum into her plot to kill her step mother. Preminger has certainly done far better of noir with "Laura," but this one is still worth checking out for Preminger's stylish direction and for Simmons and Mitchum.
The rather slow pace of the story is what kills this film, but it's still certainly worth watching for fans of Preminger, Mitchum or noir.
