Review of Angel Eyes (2001) by Dave C — 30 Nov 2007
I've always thought that Jennifer Lopez was one of those singer turned actors (or was it the other way around with her) that was actually better then one expects.
Angel Eyes retains an almost spiritual perspective to it's story of redemption and love. It's packed full of emotion, and although it travels dangerously close to feeling contrived at points. In the end though it always remains respectable and believable, which is a good trait in these types of plots. Unlike The Lakehouse, which almost gets lost in it's own sense of mysticism and spirituality, Angel Eyes keeps itself real and relevant. And in the end that makes it very watchable.
