What Besson can do when he's not trying to make an action film. Good god, this film was beautiful. Rie Rasmussen is stunning as "sexy bitch" Angela, and Jamel Debbouze steps out of his usual comedic roles into something more nuanced, and heartbreakingly human.
Part urban fairy tale, part love letter to Paris, and part kiss on the brow to the broken and emotionally beaten. Highly recommended.
