When did you last see an English man shed a tear? It's a touching movie dealing with the kind of relationship that resonates in many a man's heart. Yes, I agree that the final scene is both powerful and moving.
Jim Broadbent does a superb job as the rather insensitive, but nonetheless loving, father. The mother comes across as a little reticent, although we'll have to read "Things My Mother Never Told Me" to find out how strong she was indeed.
