Review of And the Ship Sails On (1983) by Tyler M — 11 Jul 2007
An amazing exploration of how far one can take artifice in movies. Of course, all films are distortions of reality, but this one really reminds the audience of this, while, at the same time, managing to create some gorgeous visuals and a lush, wistful mood.
I think it's one of Fellini's best and I recommend it for people who liked the animated fish and cutaway ship scenes in 'The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou.'.
