Review of And the Ship Sails On (1983) by Jeff R — 01 Apr 2008
Opera Buffa from the perspective of the privileged aristocratic demimonde as they perform a dirge aboard an ocean liner that coincides with the beginning of the 1914 Serb genocide. Debussy pieces compliment the Vaudevillian inspired sets in this post-modernist drama.
A treat for the ears, for the eyes, and for the mind.
