Review of And the Band Played On (1993) by Valerie S — 19 Mar 2010
One of the most moving films I've seen. The movie really opened my eyes to what was happening in the early years of AIDS and provoked a curiosity in me to try and learn more. The performances are solid and even when I'm reading other books about the subject, I can frequently still see or hear the actor in the text.
Quite simply, I highly reccomend this movie for educational, historical, sociological and artistic purposes.
