Review of And Soon the Darkness (1970) by Sanjid P — 14 Mar 2010
A very well crafted atmospheric British suspense thriller set in rural France. Excellent camera works & nice background scores made it thoroughly captivating. As the main character Jane doesn't speak/understand French well & there was no subtitles, so we can feel a sense of her confusion and mounting fear while the local people were talking around suspiciously. It worked pretty well to develop the tension. Moreover, saw it on a B/W format...which added a bonus cult tone.
(An American remake is going to release this year & having Amber Heard on the lead;-).
