Review of And Never Let Her Go (2001) by Chloe . — 08 Feb 2008
This movie was frightening in its portrail of Tom Capano, a powerful lawyer accused of murding the young woman he was having an affair with.
It was so easy to see how these woman got sucked into his charm and seduction. I myself would have fallen for him, He chose young vulnerable women and manipulated them into a submissive relationship.
Tom Capano believed he was smarter than everyone around him and manipulated them into believeing whatever story suited his situation.
Annie was one of many woman in his life, she was young and having a tough time and he charmed his way into her life.
Tom became so obsessed with controlling her it seemed inevitable the only was it could end was with her death or his.
Though it was never proved (or shown in this film) Tom had Annies pshyc killed because of the threat he posed to the relationship.
This was a tragic story and my heart goes out to the family and the boyfriend who must all have been very confused and frustrated.
I walked away from this movie still feeling anger and hatred toward Tom Capano, but got some satisfaction (if somewhat sadistic) in seeing the look on his face when he realises its over.
This movie was so powerful it was good to see justice in the end.
