Review of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004) by Tariq H — 13 May 2014
This movie is has a lot of dumb silly jokes that are really funny but at the same time show you why sexism is dumb and silly in the 2000s. The 1980s setting serves to show you that we live in a different time where attitudes that may have been appropriate at that time are no longer valid.
On the surface it is slapstick humor, but when you really consider the childish immature or even medieval situations the characters find themselves in you can see that the writers are really trying to tell you something.
And that is that we are worse off when we don't consider the opposite gender to be a good part of our workplace team.
