It's fair to say that Will Ferrell has found his gold mine. It's an instant cult classic and the reason for this, is because it's extremely brilliant and funny. Will Ferrell will probably do nothing better as he is perfect as the sexist Lead anchorman Ron Burgundy.
The plot is simple and wonderfully spoofed for it's 70s setting. The cast are great with Steve Carrell almost stealing every scene as simple minded Brick. A film with a host of guest cameos and a hilarious scene involving a fight with newscasters, fighting to the death.
The comedy is a perfect balance of original jokes and stupidity. Even the slight crude moments are charming, though of course, it's not for everyone but it is perfect so why shouldn't it be? Extremely funny.
