Review of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004) by Franz H — 12 Sep 2015

Anchorman is one of the most overrated comedies I have ever seen that's not to say its a bad film but I see no reason to be putting it on such a ridiculous pedestal. it was enjoyable and I did laugh a few times and I see how people can be really entertained by it but it was not all that funny to me. However I think what sets this film from an average rating to an above average rating is that it is self aware when its being dumb it knows its being dumb and does build up for some good jokes. another thing that gave the most laughs in the film was Steve carrel who was hilarious. but other times some of the jokes feel extremely forced and in some scenes I felt that Will Ferrel was mugging into the camera to much because Adam McKay Forgot to yell cut.

In short I don't think it is a bad film but I simply don't think its as good as others think it is. your not wrong for Loving it and I am not wrong for thinking its OK.
