Very solid piece of work, and one of Stewart's better performances, which is saying a lot. The atmosphere is effective, and I was continually surprised at the mature content and how matter-of-factly it was handled, considering when it was made it was really something.
It being set in the upper peninsula was pretty cool too, few films take place here in Michigan, let alone the UP. Although it's pretty straight forward compared to courtroom dramas today, I was hoping for some great twists like Primal Fear but they never came.
Although it's much more realistic without them, which is also a strength.
