Atmospheric, intriguing, ultimately too clever for its own good... Dafoe is the kind of actor that can bring much more to a role than a script provides, so here that skill is of much use. Speedman on the other hand is wasted in a thankless supporting role.
The artistic themes and concepts are well used but wasted by the denoument.
