Review of Analyze That (2002) by Kris M — 08 Feb 2010
Money makes people do strange things. Like put out a half-hearted sequel to a decent movie. Analyze That starts off very promising, but the film quickly deteriorates. DeNiro and Crystal still have their moments, but these moments are harder to find.
The overall plot is extremely weak after the first twenty minutes (typical of a movie that is barely ninety minutes). Two of the main issues are not resolved at all, but the makers of the movie seemed to believe that closing the movie with a "The End" would wrap up all loose ends and make the viewer content.
The novelty of the soft mob boss has worn off and left this movie very forgettable. After this one died I'm sure Crystal said "Grieving...it's a process.".
