Review of An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) by Carl T — 28 May 2008
I like this movie, not for the love scene, but for the fight scene. The military is all about discipline, and the fight it takes to become a man of discipline and maturity. Women fight with words, but for men, some things can only be resolved through physical contact.
The fight between Zack and his commanding officer illustrates just that. At the end of the fight, the inner conflict is resolved.
