Review of An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) by Adam B — 30 Jul 2008
The greatest military boot came romantic comedy adventure ever told, and no, it's not between the sargeant and the officer candidate. That would be wrong. An all star cast heads up the cast at boot camp, including Richard Gere (Pretty Woman), Deborah Winger (as the love interest), and Louis Gossett Jr.
"Lift us up where we belong!" The Reagan Era seems to be all over this, but it's good, and the cowboy jock stuff works. The best romantic comedy of 1982. (ET was the best scifi movie that year).
