I think that An Officer and Gentleman is really good and one of the best love stories I have seen. There are many good performances backed up by that memorable music. What really makes the movie is the relationships between the characters and the uncertainty of the relationships.
Will Sid end up an officer like his brother or will he DOR and live for himself? Will Paula end up like Lynette and just manipulate the man who loves her? Will Zack end up like the real father of Paula and leave her? The ending is so perfect and leaves you with such a happy and inspired feeling.
Navy OCS is something that I have always thought about pursuing so naturally I have found a lot of inspiration from this movie. One of my favorites.
