Review of An Inconvenient Truth (2006) by Michael H — 12 Nov 2012
An Inconvenient Truth, winner of the 2007 Academy Award for Best Feature Length Documentary, is a slick movie version of Al Gore?s speech on global warming that (by his own admission) he's been giving for a few decades.
In the film, Mr. Gore makes a passionate and well defended case that, not only is the earth's temperature rising, but humans are partly to blame. The good news is that, as contributors to the problem, we are in a position to reverse the trend.
Some people might view the "getting to know Al Gore" moments in the film as political pandering, which is unfortunate, because those people would be right, and these moments don't really fit in with his lecture, where Mr.
Gore has tried to de-nude the subject of politics whenever and wherever possible. Anyway, he shows a genuine passion for the topic, and he has found a lot of viable people who are willing to back his argument, which makes An Inconvenient Truth worth a rental.
