An Education is a great film that all of us high school students can relate to. The idea of indifference of our future and the need for responsible decision making is at its best. And for once, the child is well-represented with the real pressures that children face and not all of that innacurate stuff the adults try to reminisce on as screenwriters and usually fail at.

I really related to this film because I was personally one of those children who always coudln't understand the combative nature of fun and work, and how it must be done throughout one's life in order to not turn into a boring slob.

Plus this film show's the 50/60's "utopia" which I always found somewhat ironic and realistically boring in practice. We also get a good taste of British/French culture which is always a plus (kinda like why the Indian Slumdog Millionaire won even though it wasn't a great movie).

I really felt sympathy for Carey Mulligan in her pretty solid acting and enjoyed the unbiased approach to her life's decisions that MOST other films never seem to make. If we could harness this kind of thought in the rest of high school movies, they would be much better.

Until then, check out An Education 8/10.
