Review of An Education (2009) by Daniel W — 12 May 2011
An impeccably made film that I didn't think I'd like, but ended up genuinely enjoying. Neat and refined direction from Lone Scherfig, with great performances from Mulligan (who radiates loveliness), Sarsgaard (sinister in such a subtle way you barely notice it for the first hour) and Molina.
It all bodes very well for Scherfig's next film; if it can match this, 'One Day' will be very good indeed - it had better be!
