What IS the point of it all? An Education attempted to teach me a lot about life and love. If I was 16, I may have learned something. Instead I was reminded how some things can seem beautiful, wonderful and real, but turn out to be just a dickhead pretending to be something he's not.
Carey Mulligan is brilliant as a young girl who is very talented and intelligent, and throws everything away for a man twice her age, only to realize that what she really wants out of life is an education (hence the title).
This movie was beautiful in the fact that it was real. And although it did have a Hollywood happy ending, she still lost a lot, almost everything, but learned about life and love through the process.
