Highly underrated British film and definitely deserving of Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. I thought this might be a more cultured version of Lolita but it was hardly the case. Peter Saragaard was excellent as the con man David and it was refreshing to see Alfred Molina not hide his London accent.
Carey Mulligan gave an amazing performance and she should have won Best Actress but given her age, she will have plenty of opportunities to win later (see Kate Winslet). I thought more could have been done with David's wife and the pacing could have been quicker, but this was a great story and the background of 1960s London made it even better.
