Despite being a funny movie with some pretty hilarious moments, it's just barely a good horror movie. The problem is that until he turns into a werewolf, the movie is pretty boring. It's not like the movie is hilarious from beginning to end, it's just certain scenes.
So it makes watching the movie a bit of a chore sometimes. There's some awesome make-up from Rick Baker though. I'm sure it would've been a better movie through 1981 eyes, but it's a disappointingly good horror movie.
