The satisfyingly perfect combination of suspense, atmosphere, humor, and impeccable visual effects make this one of the most brilliant and tasteful horror movies ever made.
If it wasn't for An American Werewolf in London, I doubt camp horror movies like The Evil Dead would even exist.
