Review of An American Werewolf in London (1981) by Kevin G — 01 Nov 2010
This has to be the most amazing werewolf movie I've seen so far. There is just such a great blend of genres here and somehow it finds a way of being funny, while also retaining a nice amount of the horror aspect.
The main cast is really likable too and you have to love the concept of the murder victims that come back to haunt their killers, their scars still intact with decomposition setting in. There's just so many things to enjoy from this movie, the dream sequences with the crazy Nazi werewolves that brutally murder whoever they come across, the awesome werewolf transformation/make-up.
It is truly a landmark of the horror/comedy hybrid genre. John Landis really knocked this one out of the park.
