You know that film that defines your childhood,t his film is that for me. It's been my favorite film since about the age of five. Despite my nostalgia goggles though, I think this is a very good film that I think a lot of people often over look.
For one thing, I don't know any other children's film- that isn't meant for educational purposes- that bothers to take it's source history as serious as this film does. When was the last time you saw a Disney film handle the issue of Anti-Jewish Pogroms in Czarist Russia or the terror of the Sicilian Mafia? Never? Well OK then.
