Review of An American in Paris (1951) by Andrew H — 15 Oct 2007
I'm not big on musicals but this movie is one of my all time favorites!!! I just love Gene Kelly. This is the best musical ever because of Gene Kelly. He starred in it, co-directed and choreographed the movie.
The best part of the movie is the closing ballet, superbly choreographed to the title music, makes excellent use of the sights and sounds of Paris and of the images of impressionist and post-impressionist artists.
Every time I see this movie it like a pleasant visit to the city of light.
