Review of An American in Paris (1951) by Mvelase P — 22 Nov 2007
A year before one of my favourite movies, Singin' in the Rain, came out, An American in Paris was released starring Gene Kelly, the multi-talented singer/dancer/actor/performer. This movie does not reach the brilliance of the great Singin' in the Rain but it's still a lot of fun with its memorable finale (a 20 minute dance number through paintings and Paris backdrops).
The movie, which involves a love quadrangle, ends a little too sweet for my taste and a few plot pieces were left hanging, but it's still a classic worth tapping your feet to.
