Review of An American in Paris (1951) by Chris S — 21 May 2008
The songs are not catchy, the film lacks of humor, the characters are shallow and sappy, the story is cliched, and the multiple musical numbers in the end should have been placed in the actual storyline.
It was very unwise to make them be a part of a dream sequence. I am only impressed with Gene Kelly's tap dancing and a few of the musical numbers.
