Considered lost for a very long time, now thankfully returned to the world. An American Hippie in Israel is one of those films that is too hilariously outrageous to be true. Though its intentions are exaggeratedly satirical and its observations on the social culture of its times are clearly meant to be taken seriously, it is the film's numerous priceless moments of involountary humour that make Sefer's film such a cult classic must see.

The story is about four youths who, out of disenchantment and boredom, set out to a deserted island to live the life of their dreams. Or at least that is what they think, as once they get there they become frustrated, angered and violent quite fast as they struggle to adapt to nature.

Scattered scenes of free love and caricatures of characters complete the awful yet entertaining experience that is this film.
