Review of An American Haunting (2005) by ;) Shannon — 19 May 2008
It was different. Not really the movie I was expecting. The twist about the cause of the tormenting was unexpected. I kind of wish there was more character building of the neighbor and the teacher. It would have added to the possibility of the neighbor putting a curse on the Bell family.
More information of the teacher could have shed some light on how he was denouncing the facts that everyone was telling him about what was going on. The present day storyline should have been cut. It seemed like dead weight and very unconnected to the actual story.
I do think the acting was good. It's not supposed to be scary in the manner of causing nightmares, but rather what is attacking Betsy.
