Review of An American Haunting (2005) by Django L — 15 Jun 2008
It's really sad that after all the years of waiting for a major motion picture to be made of the most famous haunting in Tennessee history, that this was the best they could come up with. I grew up with tales of the Bell Witch.
Where I'm from, she's someone you just don't want to mess with. I heard stories about the Bell Witch everywhere from campfires to the playground to the classroom. Yes, we watched film strips on the Bell Witch in elementary school.
There is so much more to this story than what is portrayed in this film, and they left out some wonderful pieces to the story that would have made it far more interesting. What a letdown.
