Review of An American Dream (1966) by Bill C — 16 Jul 2010
Deliriously wonderful Mailer madness with a top Hollywood cast playing it in a straight, but hardly subtle, manner. Parker portrayal as Whitman's spoiled, rich wife is a jawdropper. Leigh and the second act have a tough act to follow but there's enough oddball lunacy to carry you through to the end.
Is it close to the novel? Is it ood? Who cares?
