Review of An American Crime (2007) by Ann D — 22 Aug 2008
One of the most brutal and horrifying stories of abuse I've ever seen or heard. So frustrating to watch, especially during the times that you know Ellen Page's character could just run away but she doesn't on account of trying to simply do as she's told.
The acting is great, but just makes it that more realistic and hard to watch. Had to take a break after the Coke bottle scene. The fact that this really happened (and still does, I'm certain) makes this one of the scariest movies I've seen in a while.
