Review of An American Crime (2007) by Melanie D — 26 Aug 2008
OMG, wicked. First of all, after seeing Juno and being introduced to Ellen Page, I didn't know anything about her career prior to that big debut. I mean, this wasn't in the theatres, was it? Juno was released after this was.
..but I had never heard of this one, at all. Anyway...this is a WICKED story. Not scary or anything, like the box sort of suggested. But what was done to this child is of the UTMOST horrendous evil. And most of it not even by the "caretaking" woman!! (Like the box also suggested) And with the twist at the end, I was like.
..."whooooaa..". I thought it was very odd that her parents weren't getting out of the car, but instead letting her go in and "take care of things" herself. I immediately said to my friend, watching it with me, "There is no WAY that my dad would have sat in that car, letting me go back in that place alone!!" lol.
Seriously. So, I felt like something was too strange there. Anyway...crazy story, what happened here. This movie was nearly pointless, anyway...I mean, it's not entertainment, and what good does it do for us to see it? It just made me feel ick afterward.
=/.
