Review of An Affair to Remember (1957) by Laura O — 26 Aug 2008
Really? I wouldn't consider this one of the greatest romantice movies. Maybe my hopes were too high after seeing it referencedin Sleepless in Seattle. But I just wasn't very moved. I certainly didn't cry, and it isn't too hard to make me cry.
Maybe it's because I knew the ending. Anyways, it was a good enough movie, the acting was really good. Gotta love Cary Grant. I'd never seen Deborah Kerr before, but she was great, and they played off each other perfectly.
Some of the lines were improvised, according to the featurette that I watched. Just plain old good chemistry.
