Review of An Affair to Remember (1957) by Hannah D — 14 Jan 2011
One of the quintessential romantic films. Excellent first act, a decent middle section, and a wonderful ending. It's a good old fashioned love story remade from the same writer/director's hit film Love Affair from the '30s.
This time made with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr in the two central roles. Great chemistry, excellent acting and good direction from one of the masters, Leo McCarey, make it a film to remember. On a side note, this film had a large influence on the '90s romance Sleepless In Seattle.
