Not the usual fair for Old Geezers Who Go To The Matinee Alone, but a few showed up. This is a documentary about the regrettably short life of Amy Winehouse. Winehouse was the consummate jazz vocalist but her fame came from two pop albums.
She drank and drugged herself to an early death and her husband and especially her father were complicit. The movie is a bit hard to take as it deals with gradual descent but along the way there is a lot of brilliance.
Her vocals have been justifiably described as among the finest jazz singers of all time. The brief scene of her and Tony Bennett recording 'Body and Soul' is worth the price of admission. Not in wide circulation, but if you really like music and are interested in her then try to find it.
