Review of Amy (2015) by Tim M — 15 Nov 2016
'Amy' is an intimate portrait of a really horrible person. Amy Winehouse is brilliant person, but also very insecure and insecure people can be quite hateful. They can have really bad judgement and all that and more is chronicled here. Early her mother tells us she couldn't say no to her daughter. When you don't teach someone right or wrong there is a good chance they become a sociopath. What we also find here is how people are willing to take advantage of the unstable and it's horrifying.
This movie is vivid in the way it's filmed and progressive. You never see someone speaking on screen. It's a different style and it's lovely. Final Score 7.7.
