Review of Amy (2015) by Leena L — 16 May 2016
Very intimate and very painful to watch. Her father comes off as the biggest jerk that has ever lived, but I'm wondering if the truth is really closer to somewhere in the middle. Too typical a tale of a talented artist being used up the music business.
It always reminds me of the Alex Chilton interview of the Big Star Live CD where he complains that the music business was very "scummy" when he was a young artist. The interviewer then asks Chilton if it's better today.
His response is, "no, it's still scummy.".
